As a fitness coach with nearly a decade of experience, I find great inspiration in exploring the gym setups of professional athletes.

Their unwavering dedication and commitment to training often result in impeccable choices and solutions.

Recently, I came across the new garage gym of Josh Bridges, a highly accomplished six-time CrossFit Games athlete.

His training facility is remarkable, and I am excited to provide a comprehensive overview of his carefully organized new garage gym.

Let's dive into the fascinating details of this unique workout space.

Quick Summary

  • Josh Bridges’ new garage gym is an example of how a small space can be effectively utilized to create a functional workout area.
  • The CrossFit athlete basement workout space, which he considers his go-to workout space, has a similar size and workout tool selection.
  • Having a home gym allows you to save money and time and have the flexibility to work out whenever you want.

Last year, Josh Bridges gave a sneak peek of his new garage gym through a Rogue’s YouTube channel exclusive tour.

Despite its small size, his new gym is neatly organized and filled with high-quality home gym equipment.

One of the standout features of Bridges’ gym is the diverse range of equipment he has on hand.

Being sponsored by Rogue Fitness, he has a complete set of Rogue tools, including a home gym power rack, barbells, bumper plates, and a GHD machine.

Alongside this standard equipment, Josh Bridges has thoughtfully incorporated additional items to enhance functional movements.

In addition to a diverse selection of kettlebells, he has included unique tools like Goruck (a weighted backpack for runs or walks), sandbags, and slam balls.

For cardio, his new garage gym has a Trueform Runner treadmill (which helped him during a knee injury), a Jacob’s Ladder machine, and one piece of equipment every gym should have, according to Bridges—the Rogue Echo bike.

When asked about his top five essentials for a garage gym, besides the Rogue Airbike, Josh Bridges listed:

  1. Barbell and weights
  2. Yoke (a versatile power rack alternative)
  3. Sandbag
  4. Dumbbells

Using these equipment pieces, the CrossFit athlete can perform a diverse range of exercises and train in all aspects of fitness, which aligns with his overall workout philosophy and his functional home gym setup.

The same can be said for his other workout area, the basement gym.

Josh’s Basement Gym

Another gym Josh Bridges has is located in his basement. The compact space of the basement again packs a punch with a wide range of gear and a thoughtful layout.

The centerpiece of his basement home gym is a squat rack adorned with Rogue’s bumper plates and gymnastic rings.

On the right side of the squat rack, you can see a cardio corner with three machines—Concept2’s Ski erg, Echo bike, and GHD machine by Rogue.

In the left corner, Josh keeps a stack of barbells, kettlebells, a Rowerg, a bike, and a cold plunge.

He says that the cold plunge makes him feel good after the immersion—a statement that has scientific backing [1].

On the opposite wall, there are dumbbells and a bench.

Josh Bridges’ basement gym proves that a compact space can still provide a comprehensive training facility.

His gear selection and the thoughtful layout of the fitness space make it a functional and enjoyable space for workouts.
