Albolene For Weight Loss (Does It Really Burn Fat)

People have been coming up with crazy ideas to lose weight for decades. But when I saw some forum posts where people were talking about the so-called Albolene cream and its impact on body fat, I figured I needed to do more research.

It just sounded crazy that a moisturizing skin cleanser could have hidden benefits for fat loss.

So, I teamed up with a dermatologist to see if there was any evidence to support the Albolene weight-loss claims.

Here’s what I found.

Quick Summary

  • Albolene cream is a makeup remover and moisturizing cream that is mainly used on the face.
  • It’s unclear when the first claims emerged that this moisturizing cleanser could help you lose weight, but it’s certainly not what it was designed for.
  • While it has good skin conditioning properties, there’s no scientific evidence that it helps burn excess fat for weight loss.

What is Albolene?

Albolene is a moisturizing cream that cleans skin and removes makeup that has been around for over a century.

Recently Albolene has gained traction as a weight loss enhancer because it traps heat at the application site and causes sweating.

Many believe that the sweating process brought on by the Albolene’s skin application brings about weight loss, which it is, but it is water weight, a temporary weight loss that you will gain back as soon as you rehydrate.

Is Albolene Good For Losing Weight?

Getting a cream to her hands

No, Albolene is not good for losing weight. There are no credible scientific studies to support that it can be used as a weight-loss cream.

In fact, there are no studies to suggest there are any effective topical creams with weight loss abilities.

The cream has been around for over 100 years and has long been used for removing makeup [1].

It’s highly effective at removing thick layers of makeup and is often used on movie sets because it also works well as a skin conditioner.

Somehow, people came up with the Albolene challenge, where they applied it to the whole body to try and lose weight. I couldn’t find how people came up with such a crazy idea, but we put it to the test.

It does seem to open sweat glands causing you to sweat excessively, especially if you put it on before exercising. But any kind of weight loss we experienced was short-lived because it was a momentary loss of water [2].

The use of topical creams like Albolene alone is not a viable option when trying to lose weight. Sustainable weight loss requires a holistic approach that combines healthy eating habits, regular exercise, and lifestyle modifications.

While the Albolene challenge may result in temporary weight loss due to increased sweating, it primarily leads to water loss rather than fat reduction.

To achieve lasting and healthy weight loss, it is key to focus on long-term lifestyle changes that promote overall well-being and sustainable results.

Let’s take a closer look.

How Do People Claim It Works?

People claim that Albolene works for weight loss by covering areas of your body that have excess fat. For example, the idea is that you apply Albolene to your belly and then lose inches around your waist.

However, that’s a far stretch of what a simple makeup remover could possibly achieve.

What may happen is that you lose water weight by sweating more in those areas. Some people say that they instantly feel sweat build up when they apply it, but that’s also not something that our testing confirmed.

We did notice that the areas where we applied started to sweat sooner, but it’s difficult to say whether you’ll lose more water weight as a result.

You’re certainly not going to experience weight loss due to some magical fat-burning effect.

When removing makeup, though, Albolene serves its purpose effectively. As a makeup remover, it gently cleanses the skin, eliminating traces of cosmetics, dirt, and impurities.

The creamy texture of Albolene helps dissolve even stubborn, long-lasting makeup, leaving your skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated.

However, it's important to remember that while Albolene can assist in makeup removal, it shouldn't be considered a weight loss solution. Its primary function is enhancing your skincare routine, ensuring a clean and radiant complexion.

Albolene Side Effects

Most products come with a certain amount of risk, mainly when used differently than the intended purpose [3].

Albolene is no different, and some known allergic reactions are:

  • Rash or hives
  • Swollen, blistered, or peeling skin (may include fever)
  • Wheezing
  • Chest or throat tightness
  • Trouble talking, swallowing, or breathing
  • Acute hoarseness
  • Swelling of the lips, tongue, mouth, throat, or face

Skin infections can also occur with Albolene use, and signs include pain, oozing, redness, swelling, and heat.

Other potential but rare side effects include fever and bleeding.

Are There Better Ways To Burn Fat?

A woman eating a healthy meal

Yes, there are much better ways than Albolene for weight loss.

First of all, you have to get into the habit of eating a healthy diet on a consistent basis.

Whether that’s a low-carb and high-protein diet, or you simply go into some form of calorie restriction, you need to stop eating junk food and sugar.

Then, you need to get into the habit of doing some form of exercise every day. And at least three times a week.

This exercise needs to be an aerobic exercise where your heart is pounding, and you break into a sweat like HIIT for losing weight.

Only then can you expect to lose a few pounds on a monthly basis, excluding water weight.

You can also consider taking some natural fat burners to slightly speed things up a bit. Just don’t fall for products that promise to give you a beach body while you’re sitting on the couch all day.

FAQs

Does Albolene Make You Sweat?

Yes, Albolene makes you sweat because applying the cream traps heat between the product and the skin; the body then produces sweat to cool down.

How Long Can You Leave Albolene On?

You can leave Albolene on all day. It has good moisturizing benefits, and your skin will fully absorb it. There are no benefits from wiping any excess cream away.

Can You Use Albolene Every Day?

Yes, you can use Albolene every day. But you shouldn’t expect it to help you lose belly fat. There is no scientific proof that it can help bring on lasting weight loss results, so just apply it for the moisturizing benefits.

Don’t Fall For The Albolene Weight Loss Myth

Albolene for weight loss is a complete myth, and I strongly suggest that you completely ignore people who recommend it. It’s not a quick weight loss fix, and you’ll just end up disappointed and frustrated.

If you fix your diet and get into the habit of regular exercising, then I would suggest you try adding natural supplements into the mix. Check our articles where we tested and found the best option in the market.
