“Rock of Africa” Martinson Ampadu Amps Up for WABBA Togo Bodybuilding Championship
Ghana’s own muscle marvel, Martinson Ampadu, better known as the “Rock of Africa,” is flexing his biceps for the inaugural World Amateur Bodybuilding Association (WABBA) Togo Bodybuilding Championship.
This first-of-its-kind event, slated for August 13, 2023, in Lomé, is set to be a clash of titans, featuring the crème de la crème of West African bodybuilders.
Ampadu is no stranger to the spotlight, having graced global stages and recently clinched the men’s physique category at the 2023 Bodybuilding Championship in Indonesia.
He’s also a silver medalist from the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) West African Championship held in Accra.
The upcoming championship is another golden opportunity for Ampadu to flex his muscles against West Africa’s finest.
“I have been in training over the past few weeks, gearing up for the championship, and I am hopeful I would emerge victorious in the competition, but it would certainly not be easy.
“I am going there with one purpose, and that is to win, and I would urge support from all Ghanaians, and I am grateful for their support thus far,” Ampadu said. He also expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from his fellow Ghanaians.
Van Calebs, the man behind the muscle, is confident about Ampadu’s chances. “He deserves all the support from all Ghanaians as well as corporate bodies because he is one of Ghana’s brightest prospects in the men’s physique event.
“I am hopeful that he would come out of Saturday’s competition very successful ahead of the various international competitions later this year,” Calebs said.
He also called for continued support from Ghanaians and corporate bodies, emphasizing Ampadu’s potential to bring home more international accolades later this year.
As the countdown to the WABBA Togo Bodybuilding Championship begins, all eyes are on the “Rock of Africa” as he prepares to make his mark once again.
